Taking a Vacation

Let us know before you go... Expand/Collapse

Have plans to travel in the near future? Whether you are planning to travel outside of the country or outside of your normal business area, let us know before you go!! It is important to notify Cornerstone Credit Union and MasterCard of your travel plans one week prior to your departure to ensure you have access to your money and are able to use your Member Card® debit card, Global Payment Mastercard® or Mastercard® credit cards without interruption while you are away.

This is an extra security measure as all accounts are monitored for suspicious or unusual card activity. Without prior notification of your travels, transactions for large amounts, out of the country, or high frequency, may result in your card being blocked for security reasons. Notifying Cornerstone Credit Union and Mastercard® will help avoid any service disruptions or transaction blocking while you are away from your normal business area.

When you call, please let us know the countries/US states you are traveling to, the dates you will be away, and we will take care of the rest.

If you have a Member Card® Debit Card and/or Global Payment Mastercard please call:

Cornerstone Credit Union - 1-855-875-2255

AND if you have a Cornerstone Mastercard® Credit Card please call:

Collabria - 1-855-341-4643 (or the telephone number on the back of your card).

Time to Get Away Expand/Collapse

The hectic pace of everyday life can start to wear on all of us at some point. It's nice to have a break, a change of scenery. Load the kids into the van and hit the road to family fun. Explore the jungles of Costa Rica with an experienced guide. Enjoy a quiet after-dinner gondola ride in Venice with that special someone. Cornerstone Credit Unioncan help you save and plan for that special getaway.

Travel Expenses Expand/Collapse

Travel agencies offer packages that are designed to meet all kinds of holiday desires. This can be a good way to save money, but may not suit your individual needs. Traveling by car provides a lot of freedom, but the distance you can travel is then limited.

The most popular method of vacation travel is by plane. Full-fare tickets offer the most flexibility and fewest restrictions, but they come at a price. If you can travel outside one of the peak seasons, and know the dates you want to leave and return well in advance, discount airfare is available. Seat sales are limited and can't be counted on, especially for large families.

Staying in hotels and eating in restaurants can get expensive. Do some research before you leave. There are a lot of books and websites to help you find the accommodations and places to eat that are right for you.

Travel Insurance Expand/Collapse

It's easier to relax abroad knowing that you're covered if something goes wrong. There are different insurance packages available that cover everything from lost luggage to health care while in another country. Your Provincial Health Care does not cover all medical expenses, so make sure you're protected.
