50 projects strong. $50K more reasons to keep building!
Project Cornerstone has proudly supported 50 projects since its original launch in 2006. This year, the program is offering an additional $50K to community groups fundraising for capital projects that directly benefit their communities. That's $150,000 available to organizations just like you!
To be considered, projects must meet the following criteria:
- Benefit a group or the broader community rather than individuals.
- Be a capital project or a one-time investment (annual operating costs are not eligible).
- Utilize the majority of funds directly for the project or program, with minimal administrative expenses.
- Require submission of receipts and invoices as proof of expenditures.
- Offer significant public visibility while upholding Cornerstone Credit Union’s professional and respected image.
- Reflect positively on Cornerstone Credit Union. Project leaders may be asked to participate in publicity efforts.
Funding will not be provided for:
- Annual operating costs.
- Projects or programs that take place outside the Cornerstone Credit Union region.
- Previously funded projects.
Additional information:
- An organization can be funded more than once, but a project cannot.
- While membership at Cornerstone Credit Union is not a requirement, preference will be given to our members when the final decision must be made between comparable projects.

FAQs:
Project Cornerstone is an application-based program that offers annual funding to community groups or organizations that are fundraising for capital projects that benefit the people and the community. $150,000 is available for 2025.
Please submit your application online.
Email your name and contact information to community@cornerstonecu.com.
Funding can be awarded to one project if selected by the committee. Some projects only require a partial amount because additional funding is secured from other areas, therefore we can support more than one project with Project Cornerstone funding.
Thank you for your application. Every year Cornerstone receives many applications for worthwhile projects and programs, and unfortunately we are not able to support them all. Each application is evaluated based on eligibility and is reviewed against all other applications received, and projects are awarded based on their evaluation score. We encourage you to apply again!
While it is not a requirement to have funds raised prior to applying, you will be asked for more information on how you plan to reach your fundraising goal in the application.
