
150,000 Reasons to Celebrate!
Since launching Project Cornerstone in 2006, we have awarded funding to 50 local capital projects. To celebrate this milestone, we have increased our funding amount this year to $150,000. Congratulations to all of our 2025 Project Cornerstone recipients!
Kipling Kidcare & Kipling Friendship Club
Project Cornerstone awarded $5,000 to each organization. The Kipling Friendship Club hosts multiple gatherings such as senior activities, business meetings, and community events. Kipling Kidcare is a non-profit daycare with two locations in Kipling. Funding for each of these facilities will be used to add ramps to improve accessibility.
Grenfell Curling Club
Project Cornerstone awarded $10,000 to the Grenfell Curling Club. The Grenfell Curling Club strives to bring recreational programming to Grenfell and the surrounding area, hosting curlers of all ages. The funding will go towards replacing their ice scraper.
Kinette Club of Tisdale
Project Cornerstone awarded $10,000 to the Kinette Club of Tisdale. The Kinette Club of Tisdale is working to revitalize the public playground at the Kinsmen McKay Park. This project will replace the outdated, inaccessible play structure and surfacing with modern, inclusive equipment and accessible surfacing.
Wheels of Wellness Indian Head
Project Cornerstone awarded $10,000 to Wheels of Wellness. Wheels for Wellness is a community-driven shuttle service that provides transportation for Indian Head and area residents to medical and wellness appointments in Regina, Saskatoon, Melville, and Yorkton. The funding will be go towards the van purchase that serves as the shuttle.
Wynyard CARRES
Project Cornerstone awarded $12,500 to Wynyard CARRES. Wynyard CARRES is a non-profit organization that provides support for adults and youth with diverse needs and physical disabilities. The group purchased the land beside their activity centre with a goal to beautify the main street and also to create a green space. The funding will go towards the overhead awning, benches, and bins.
Jedburgh & District Recreation Club
Project Cornerstone awarded $12,500 to Jedburgh & District Recreation Club. This facility is also used year-round, hosting events for snowmobilers, community events, and other groups that rent the facility. The funding will go towards the build of a new entrance and porch area for the curling rink. The space also doubles as offseason storage and potential to house an artificial ice plant in years to come.
Yorkton United Football Club
Project Cornerstone awarded $20,000 to Yorkton United Football Club. The Yorkton United Football Club (YUFC) is a dedicated group providing soccer opportunities for Yorkton and area. YUFC embarked on a major project, building outdoor turf fields that will allow them to expand their program. The funding will go towards their clubhouse renovations and partial lighting.
East Central Health Foundation
Project Cornerstone awarded $25,000 to East central Health Foundation. The East Central Health Foundation is establishing a new 90-space childcare centre in Yorkton, primarily for healthcare workers to utilize. The funding will be used specifically for the playground / outdoor play area.
Kelliher Rec Centre
Project Cornerstone awarded $40,000 the Kelliher Rec Centre. This facility holds both a natural ice arena and 3 curling sheets with active hockey, skating and curling groups. During off-ice seasons, this facility is used for cabarets and special events. The funding will go towards the repair of the cement blocks that are cracking in the rink.
