RRSPs & RRIFs
Put more money in your pocket through tax savings today.
Where saving for the future is concerned, a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) is one of your wisest options—and we’re happy to help you set one up so that you can be ready once your retirement day comes around.
Registered Retirement Income Fund
As you mature, so do your RRSP’s. When you reach the age of 71, you’ll need to convert them into a Retirement Income Option.
For many people, a Registered Retirement Income Fund is the way to go. With a RRIF, your savings remain tax sheltered but you can make withdrawals whenever you’d like.
You will have to pay taxes on these withdrawals, but since you’ll most likely be retired, you’ll be taxed at a much lower rate.
You will need to make a minimum taxable withdrawal from your RRIF every year. We can arrange for that to be deposited to your account monthly, quarterly, semi- annually or annually.

RRSP Basics
The Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) was introduced in 1957 to incentivize people to save for retirement, especially the self-employed and those without a company pension plan.
What is RRSP Season?
Any amount you save in your RRSP (up to your annual contribution limit) will be deducted from your taxable income for that year and therefore effectively reduce your tax bill.
Why Saving for Retirement is Essential
A surprisingly large number of Canadians are expecting to rely on government pension benefits when they come to retire. However, this may be a seriously flawed plan.
