Mobile Deposit is a feature available on our mobile app for iPhone® and Android™ devices. You can quickly and securely deposit cheques with your smartphone - anywhere, anytime. So whether you’re at coffee with friends, at work, or staying up late to get your banking done—any time is the right time to deposit cheques.
How does it work?
- Open the mobile app on your iPhone or Android smartphone.
- Select ‘Mobile Deposit’ from your dashboard.
- Select the account you want to deposit the cheque to.
- Enter the amount of the cheque.
- Take a photo of the front and back of the cheque and click ‘Continue'.
The deposit will be credited immediately to your account, however, there may be a hold on the deposit for up to four days. Please contact us to review your account holds.
There is a default limit of $5,000 per cheque deposit; however if that limit does not meet your needs, please contact us. Only one cheque can be deposited at a time; however there are no limits to the number of cheques that are deposited per day.
In the rare circumstance that there is an issue with the deposit after you receive confirmation during the deposit, you will be contacted by us.
Yes. As a feature of our mobile banking app, Mobile Deposit meets the same high standards as our mobile and online banking services.
You are required to retain deposited cheques for a period of 90 days once deposited. As soon as a cheque is deposited, it is important to mark the cheque ‘deposited via mobile’ on the face of the cheque (without obscuring any material information on the cheque). After the 90 day retention period, cheques should be destroyed by marking them VOID or shredding them.
