During her tenure she chaired many Board committees and was elected as a Vice-President for 5-years. Cheryl has an extensive history as a Director and President of other boards.
Cheryl and her husband Al have owned and operated Yorkton Aircraft Service for 33 years. This dynamic business is the largest of its kind in Canada. They live on an acreage outside of Yorkton which features swans, geese, rabbits, and cat Nala. When not at home, they are at their cabin or travelling to conferences and tradeshows. Their two sons live in the Yorkton area as well.
Leanne is a wife to Evan and a mother to Laira Arnold and Brock Huvenaars. She currently co-owns Tisdale Dental and Dental Hygiene Clinic in Tisdale and T2 Dental and Dental Hygiene Clinic in Emerald Park. She has been on the Cornerstone board for the last 5 years and has completed her board director designation and all three levels of education required for this role. She has sat on the governance committee and also chaired the committee. She currently sits on the Finance & Audit committee. She is also on the CCDF board in Saskatoon and the NACCA board as the Saskatchewan representative. She has previously sat on the CDHA and SDHA boards for her profession and has been president on both, and the Catholic Church board.
Leanne believes she is a strong and capable candidate to fill this role. She has dedicated all the time necessary for the tasks this role requires. She believes in community involvement, volunteering and supporting the local businesses and economy. She would like your support to remain on the board of directors.
Ty currently serves grain farmers across eastern Saskatchewan as an Exceed Grain Marketing advisor. He works closely with grain producers to help discover the best marketing opportunities for their crops. In his role he needs to be astute to the happenings of the world markets and how it translates to grain producers within Saskatchewan. As a part of Ty's service, he provides a holistic view of the farms current financial situation by assessing cash flow requirements, cost of production analysis and preparing capital budgets for future planning.
Ty has past experience in primary production agriculture as well as prior work in the accounting industry. He holds a degree from the University of Saskatchewan in Agribusiness and is licensed as a Registered Professional Agrologist within Saskatchewan.
Ty believes in the core values of the credit union system. A lending institution that is connected to the local needs of the community is crucial to the success of rural economies.
Ty resides just outside of Tisdale with his wife Chelsea and young daughter, Annah.
- Only members with home branches of District 1 are eligible to vote in this election.
- District 1 encompasses Tisdale, Rose Valley, Wynyard, Kelliher, Ituna and Yorkton
- District 1 encompasses Tisdale, Rose Valley, Wynyard, Kelliher, Ituna and Yorkton
- The member must hold a valid membership with Cornerstone Credit Union.
- The member must be sixteen (16) years of age or older.
- Each member is eligible to vote once.
- If more than one share is held in the same name of a member, the member is entitled to one vote only, regardless of the number of shares held.
- In the case of grandfathered joint accounts, each member of the account is entitled to one vote. If more than one share is held in the name of joint members, each member is entitled to one vote only, regardless of the number of shares held.
- Where a member holds a valid membership at more than one branch of Cornerstone Credit Union, the member is entitled to one vote only.
- A person who is a member and who is a representative of a partnership, proprietorship or trade name account, does not become entitled to multiple votes. The person has one vote regardless of the number of business relationships that the person may enjoy with the Credit Union. Specifically, the person given authority to vote cannot vote on behalf of a personal membership and a partnership, proprietorship or trade name account. The partnership, proprietorship or trade name account must provide written notice by way of a signed “Notification of Intent to Vote”. This needs to be completed and provided to the Returning Officer of Cornerstone Credit Union at least 48 hours prior to voting.
- A person who is a member and who is a representative of an organization is entitled to multiple votes. The organization must provide notice by way of signed “Notification of Intent to Vote”, filed with the Returning Officer of Cornerstone Credit Union at least 48 hours prior to voting.
- When shares are held in trust, one of two situations apply:
- If the “in trust” member is 16 years of age or older, he/she is entitled to one vote as he or she has not voted already.
- The trustee is not entitled to vote under any circumstances.
- The law recognizes Corporations and Public Bodies as separate legal entities, separate from the individual representing that corporation or public bodies, and therefore shall have the right to vote through a delegated agent, provided the corporation has one fully paid up membership. This is in recognition of the fact that corporations and public bodies must exercise their membership relationship through individuals. The corporation must provide written notice by way of a signed “Notification of Intent to Vote”, filed with the Returning Officer of Cornerstone Credit Union at least 48 hours prior to voting.
- The executor or administrator of an estate may vote on behalf of any membership held by that estate.
